BlackSo, you're wonder are taking vitamins really necessary? Hair vitamins can definitely help increase hair growth and hair strength.

On average, hair grows approximately 1/4-1/2 each month. Some People are lucky enough to be blessed with hair growth of 1 inch per month. Because of the naturally dry nature of black hair not only does it need special attention when washing and caring for it, but taking vitamins will give it the extra boost it needs to grow strong, healthy, and shiny.

Taking vitamins is very important to your hair because when the body gets the nutrients it needs, distribution to the hair happens last. The Body takes care of all the vital organs first and if "there is anything left over", the non essentials like your skin and hair are taken care of.

Black hair vitamins that I personally find helpful?

MSM- I love this vitamin! When I first started taking it the texture of my hair improved and I noticed faster hair growth. MSM is a form of sulfur. It is often used for arthritis and for chronic joint problems.

Silica Complex- This is actually herb horsetail, combined with other minerals. Silica is an important mineral found in the body and makes hair grow in stronger. Most people report shiner hair when taking silica

Evening Primrose oil- Is an essential fatty acid needed for body functioning. It has been known to soften hair and hair growth

Flex seed oil- Often works well with evening primrose and is also considered and essential fatty acid

Biotin- I can not say enough about biotin. Biotin is praised for it's hair growing properties. It is recommended to start with 1000mcg and increase it to 3000mcg as tolerated. Most people not only report an increase in growth but also overall thickness. While most people praise biotin a few have had the unpleasant side effects of breakouts.

Black Women tend to have a small deficiency in zinc and iron and notice improve results in hair growth while taking these vitamin.

You may have to experiment for a while before finding the perfect combinations of vitamins that are right for your hair. Don't forget to check with your doctor if you are unsure about if a vitamin is right for you.
